Our history
The Coconut Fish Cafe opened in 2009 in Maui, Hawaii. Our small restaurant quickly became a favorite with Kamna (locals) and tourists with our family-friendly atmosphere, custom surfboard tables, exceptional food, healthy food options and Aloha culture. In 2013, Coconut Fish Cafe opened in Scottsdale and experienced a similar success as our Maui location, a success driven by the loyal preservation of coconuts. There are now three locations in Arizona.

Who are we
When you visit our restaurant, you will be taken to Mau. Custom-designed surfboard tables, bamboo, bright colors, even music will remind you of the islands. No matter where we go, it is true for the aerial roots of coconut that symbolize three words:
- Aloha - Love, Affection, Compassion, Kindness
- Ohana - Family, Relations, Family
- Ono - delicious
Coconut Fish Cafe was born out of a desire to serve high quality, healthy, ono fish to neighbors, friends and ohna. The vision began to spread about a new, stylish, fast-casual eatery where food was unmatched and service focused on Aloha. Now, we remain the same family business but with a very large Ohana to serve. Our tastes also play homage to our Hawaiian home. Your bite may include mango, wasabi, coconut, pineapple and ginger.
The bright flavors of our signature, homemade coleslaw are powered by coconut milk, an ingredient we use to make our coleslaw not only unique, but also healthy. We've also included some of our family recipes, with founder Michael Phillips offering customers his mom's cocktail sauce, Caesar salad dressing, and seafood chowder.

Tacos
The ingredients are melted together to create intricate flavors and duos, including freshly sliced and perfectly grilled mahi-mahi and ono - with 7 different layers of textures - from Coconut's Fish Cafe Fish Taco Is your first bite. A little bit of wasabi in Kolasov is balanced with coconut milk, topped with crispy koselav with fresh tomatoes; A common salsa balances red tomato-based salsa; Melted cheese on top of crunchy grilled tortillas - eat with your hands, enjoy making a mess, and experience our famous fish tacos.
Fish bait
- Ono - Ono is a white fish, very lean in its nature. Many local customers in Hawaii choose to film Ono. It is often described as having a firm, meaty texture and a strong taste. Ono, is called wahu in other parts of the world. The use of ono in coconut fish mixture brings texture and flavor to the mixture.
- Mahi-Mahi - Mahi-Mahi is a light, very moist, white fish. A worldwide fish, Mahi-Mahi, is known by different names: in California, it can be referred to as a dorado; In the southeast it can be referred to as a dolphin fish.
- The coconut mahi-mahi helps the fish blend to have a light and juicy texture.
- It is often said that most people have a more delicious taste than they are addicted to fish.
- Ahi - Ahi tuna is often prepared rare and supplemented by wasabi. Often used for sushi, Ahi has a slightly lustrous flavor and a soft texture when prepared rare.
Homemade Sauce
Asian nature
Our ginger wasabi chutney tastes of wasabi, but not the heat and the ginger spice is balanced with a hint of sweetness. Mahi is available on Mahi and Ono's Fillets.
South of the border
One of our spiciest sauces is based on Chipotle Peppers. Its vibrant orange color warns you of the warmth contained within. If you want extra punch on Mahi Mahi or Ono's tacos or fillets, this is the option for you.
Wasabi
Our fat sauce is designed to tickle the bridge of your nose with a flavor that naturally complements ahi tuna. This sauce is available only on ahi.
Cocktail
One of our signature sauces, this recipe is one of our family secrets that we have brought to the restaurant to share with our coconut family. Available with our calamari dishes and fried shrimp dishes.
Tartar
Our spicy chutney is light and bright, which is very different from the pheasants served elsewhere.
Thai Chile
This sweet and spicy chutney comes with our coconut shrimp. With a hint of pineapple, many consider this sauce to be "drinkable".
Srirakha aoli
This sauce is designed to bring zesty, bright flavors with just a hint to our wacky fish cake.
