Well, first of all, it's not boxing. It's Peacock Bass. For the past 18 months I've been re-learning the waters of South Florida, where I've spent the first 18 years of my life. Peacock Bass is plentiful in South Florida but 18 months ago I learned that in order to get consistent and hold a biscuit, you have to draw water, know what to look for, and change your presentation.

By re-evaluating the canal system in cities, I made a habit of stopping at almost all the city water I found in nearby neighborhoods, shopping malls, parks, highways, and various other places in Miami. Most of the time to recover potential areas there was no stick in hand while I was on vacation or at work.
While I am now using the ANGLR App to mark the spots where I find fish, I once wrote mental notes or took some screenshots of the map with my phone which I will review later to find other possible ways to access the same water when I knew the fish were.

What To Look For When Finding The Peacock Bass
While peacock bass can be found in almost every body of water in Miami, when looking for new places, I often look for the deeper dunes that are near the hard structure such as limestone, dunes, or large pieces of concrete on the beach. I have also been successful in finding links in deep water under drainage pipes or sewers. Another strategy for identifying Peacock Bass in water during low or moderate light conditions is to look for the bright orange color in their anal jaws. At the same time oil-based artifacts such as Mirrodine's, or Rat-L-Traps work best to mimic small baitfish.
Despite their aggressive feeding habits, peacock bass are sometimes less effective when they start harvesting and protecting their beds, and they often clear holes to cover clouds, cold lines or rain.
When I try to use artificial radiation for slow fish, I like to lower my rays and bring back the usual attraction to annoy the fish. I find that sometimes they will try to get the lure, or even choke it, but with repeated introductions to lure the Peacock bass trap they usually bite it if they are upset enough.
When I throw a fly on the reluctant Peacock bass, I like to lower the fly strings, and sometimes I will dry the fly right in front of the fish and even let the fly fall to the ground near the fish before quickly biting the line.
